Challenges you will work on
We are looking for a Flight Deck Manager to join our Flight Deck Base Management team at our crew base in Oslo (OSL). As Flight Deck Manager, you will be a key leader for a team of pilots at the OSL crew base, working closely with two other Flight Deck Managers and the Chief Pilot. This is an administrative leadership role reporting to the Head of Flight Crew. The flight deck crew base in Oslo consists of approximately 425 pilots, offering a dynamic and engaging environment where you will play a central role in supporting and developing our flight crew.
Key responsibilities:
- You will Communicate with pilots concerning SAS goals, performance and strategies.
- Follow-up and dialog with pilots concerning sick-leave, training, leave-of-absence, or other people related matters.
- Support the pilot group with necessary working tools and information.
- Follow up of incidents, reports and performance.
- Represent flight deck management in work environment forum or be part of other ongoing projects.
- Keep track of Flight Deck KPI’s and follow trends and deviations.
- Responsible for updating base instructions and manuals or routines for Flight Deck Crew
- Coordination with other functions such as Crew planning, Training, HR in Pilot matters
To be successful, we believe you have
- An academic degree or relevant work experience
- Previous leadership experience, especially from an operational environment with larger employee groups, is a plus.
- Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and regional aviation regulations is beneficial, but not required.
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently and enjoy engaging with people. Experience communicating with larger employee groups is a plus.
- You are comfortable using IT systems and administrative tools in your daily work.
- You are comfortable communicating both verbally and in writing in English and one Scandinavian language
