Head of Ground Rostering

If so, the role of Head of Ground Rostering may be the perfect fit for you. In this role, you will lead our Scandinavian rostering resources for ground operations, ensuring the right people, with the right skills, are in the right place at the right time. You will lead a dedicated team and collaborate closely with other departments in Resource Management, Operations, People & Culture, and other cross-functional units.
The role reports to Head of Production Planning Ground.

Challenges you will work on:

As Head of Ground Rostering, you will lead our Rostering team and be responsible for the challenging task to bridge the long term and short-term planning processes. Your team’s purpose is to ensure the plan delivered by the Long-term team is refined and enable a smooth and high-quality delivery to the Short-term team. 
•    Lead the rostering process for ground operations.
•    Lead the qualification forecasts for ground operations.
•    Manage, develop, and coach a team of analysts at ARN, CPH and OSL.
•    Secure alignment by collaborating with the other teams within the planning process as well as stakeholders in Ground Operations.
•    Monitor and analyse planning performance, identifying areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
•    Ensure compliance with labour agreements, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

The Team

You will be part of the Ground Production Planning organization and work closely with other Resource Management teams, Ground Operations, People & Culture, and other key stakeholders across SAS. The Rostering team consists of 6 high-performance employees with different backgrounds and located in Norway, Denmark and Sweden. Together, you will ensure efficient resource planning and high-quality roster delivery that supports operational performance and frontline excellence.

•    Basic knowledge in one of the Scandinavian languages.


Our ideal candidate has proven leadership experience in managing teams and cross-functional projects, and minimum 2 years of experience in operational planning, preferably within aviation or transport sectors. A university degree within logistics, transport or engineering is highly desirable.

•    Position: Full-time (100%)
•    Location: Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Oslo Airport or Copenhagen Airport.
•    You will be expected to work onsite. Remote work may also be an option, depending on the agreement made with your manager.
•    Travel within Scandinavia will be required.
