If so, the role of Head of Short-term Planning may be the perfect fit for you. In this role, you will lead the short-term planning function for ground operations—ensuring the right people, with the right skills, are in the right place at the right time.
Challanges You Will Work On
In this exciting and impactful role, you will lead and coordinate short-term planning for ground operations from the moment rosters are released until handover to resource allocators. You will take ownership of a team of planners and coordinators responsible for short-term and training planning—ensuring they are aligned, supported, and set up for success.
You will oversee the development of efficient and agile plans that balance productivity, training requirements, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness. Your responsibility includes aligning short-term planning with mid- and long-term strategies, coordinating training planning, and ensuring that ground staff are fully prepared for operational execution.
You will also:
• Act as the country lead for short-term planning, ensuring local adaptation of SAS-wide strategies.
• Monitor planning performance and implement improvements.
• Ensure adherence to labour agreements, regulations, and company standards.
• Collaborate closely with Rostering, Resource Allocators, People & Culture, and central planning functions.
• Serve as a key communication bridge between frontline operations and senior leadership.
Your ability to collaborate across functions, manage complexity, and maintain high standards will be crucial in ensuring smooth and reliable ground operations at Gardermoen.
The Team
You will lead a dedicated team of planners and coordinators responsible for both short-term and training planning.
The team forms part of Production Planning Ground and collaborates tightly with People & Culture, Training, and other cross-functional units.

• Excellent sense of planning, structure, and operational coordination
• Strong strategic and operational thinking with the ability to act under pressure
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional planning processes
• Proficiency in workforce management tools and systems
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to interpret and apply labour agreements, regulations, and company standards
• Analytical mindset with great attention to detail
• Experience in operational planning—ideally within aviation or transport
• A university degree in logistics, transport, engineering, or a related field
• Fluent English, spoken and written
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to occasionally travel across countries

Position: Fulltime (100%)
This position is based in Gardemoen Airport, and you will be expected to work onsite. Remote work may also be an option, depending on the agreement made with your manager.
