TEAM MANAGER
Team Manager Ramp Services
We are seeking an engaged and structured Team Manager for our Ramp Services department at Oslo Airport. We are looking for someone with solid knowledge of airport operations, or the ability to quickly gain it, and a strong passion for developing both employees and our business.
About the position
As Team Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that your team has the right competence, qualifications and support to deliver safe, efficient and punctual ramp operations.
The role is both operational and administrative. You will need to maintain a strong overview of the operation, actively follow up on what is happening during the day and ensure that the available resources and competence are used effectively. At the same time, you will be responsible for personnel follow-up, documentation, planning, deviations and other administrative tasks related to your team.
You will be part of the Ramp Services management team and work closely with other departments to deliver on SAS's operational priorities: Safety, Punctuality & Care. We support each other and thrive on creating a positive work environment where everyone can succeed.
Responsibility and main tasks
- Lead and develop a dedicated team through clear and coaching leadership aligned with the iCARE behaviors (iCARE stands for inspire, Collaboration, Accountability, Recognition, and Execution).
- Ensure that all safety requirements are met and that deliveries comply with Service Level Agreements (SLA) with customers.
- Take an active role in the day-to-day operation, maintaining an overview of staffing, workload and operational challenges.
- Make operational decisions and take action when challenges or deviations occur.
- Follow up on employees’ competencies, qualifications, and certifications in accordance with SAS and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that the team has the right overall mix of competencies in collaboration with the planning and operational management.
- Motivate, develop, and recognize employees for their performance.
- Actively follow up on sick leave, operational deviations, and incidents.
- Ensure that employee follow-up is properly documented.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the organization and processes.
- Participate in customer and supplier meetings when required.
- Hire within your area of responsibilities in line with budgeted framework.
Qualifications and personal qualities
- Minimum upper secondary education; higher education is an advantage- relevant experience may compensate.
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience. Experience from airport operations is an advantage but not required, and applicants with other relevant backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Good system understanding and ability to quickly learn new IT tools.
- Well- organized, confident in decision-making, and able to execute effectively.
- Able to work in a structured manner, make solid decisions, and deliver results.
- Excellent prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communications skills and the ability to handle conflicts constructively.
- Business- and process-oriented with high professional integrity.
