Work Environment Specialist

As our new HWE Specialist, you will be a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, ensuring compliance, driving proactive initiatives, and shaping the future of workplace health and safety at SAS. 

Challenges you will work on


In this exciting and dynamic role, you will: 

  • Support line managers and safety representatives on health & work environment matters, ensuring constructive collaboration across departments. 
  • Provide advice, guidance, and challenge leaders in their daily HWE responsibilities, with a focus on organizational and psychosocial aspects of the work environment.
  • You will oversee HWE reporting and follow-up in Norway, ensuring compliance with national regulations – a responsibility that gives this role a unique position within SAS.
  • Lead proactive health initiatives to reduce sick leave, prevent work-related injuries, and strengthen wellbeing and presence at work.
  • Participate in HWE forums (LAMU, etc.) and drive improvements of routines and procedures.

The Team

 

You will be part of the Airline Operations department at SAS and collaborate closely with leaders, employees, and our Centers of Expertise in HWE across Scandinavia. To be successful, we believe you have

 

  • A relevant post-graduate degree, preferably within work environment, occupational health, or proactive health pedagogy. 
  • Strong knowledge of Norwegian work environment laws and regulations; knowledge of another Scandinavian country (e.g., Sweden or Denmark) is considered a strong plus.
  • Several years of experience within health and work environment, covering both strategic and operational issues.
  • Experience with organizational, physical, and psychosocial work environment challenges.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to support leaders in complex situations.
  • Excellent skills in analysis and reporting (experience with HR KPIs is a plus).
  • Fluent in English and at least one Scandinavian language, both written and spoken.

  • Position: Fulltime (100%) starting with a 6-month probation period.

  • This position is based at Gardermoen, Oslo, and you will be expected to work onsite. Remote work may also be an option, depending on the agreement made with your manager. Please note that occasional travel to Stockholm and Copenhagen may be required.
