HEAD OF NEGOTIATIONS DENMARK

Short Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Negotiations to lead our labour relations and collective bargaining in Denmark. This senior role is central to managing negotiations in a very unionized, production-intensive environment with a large blue-collar workforce. You will be responsible for our national industrial relations strategy, resolving disputes, and fostering constructive collaboration with employee representatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage collective bargaining negotiations with multiple unions and employee groups in Denmark.  
- Develop and implement negotiation strategies that align with operational goals and legal frameworks.  
- Foster and develop long-term, trust-based relationships with trade unions and employee representatives as well as our employer’s organization.
- Facilitate and participate in union collaboration forums to promote ongoing dialogue and mutual understanding.  
- Manage and resolve labour disputes, including settlement of out-of-court cases and mediation processes.  
- Provide expert advice to senior leadership on labour relations strategy, risks, and opportunities.  
- Support the implementation and operationalization of collective agreements.

Qualifications & Experience

- Extensive experience in collective bargaining and labour relations within union-heavy and production-focused industries.  
- Master of Law (LL.M.) or equivalent legal education is desirable.
- Proven track record in dispute resolution and settlement of employment-related cases.  
- Strong understanding of Danish collective labour law and employment legislation.  
- Experience working with large blue-collar workforces and operational environments.  
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.  
- Demonstrated business acumen and ability to align labour strategies with broader organizational and operational goals.
- Experience in aviation, transport, or similar sectors is an advantage.  
- Fluency in English (SAS’ corporate language) and Danish is required.
