Maintenance Control Center Engineer (MCC Engineer)

As an MCC Engineer, you will be part of the Maintenance Control Center (MCC), ensuring safe, sustainable, and punctual aircraft operations. The position is based in Copenhagen and operates 24/7/365 in support of SAS’s flight operations.  

Challenges you will work on

 

In this dynamic and operationally critical role, you will oversee the technical status of the SAS fleet during live operations. You will tackle complex technical troubleshooting, MEL/CDL management, and recovery coordination to minimize operational disruption while maintaining full regulatory compliance.  

 

Your ability to balance safety, compliance, cost awareness, and operational performance will be essential in ensuring on-time performance without compromising airworthiness. 

 

Some of your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Evaluate aircraft defects and determine dispatch capability
  • Coordinate corrective actions with approved maintenance organizations and line stations
  • Support and manage AOG situations across the network
  • Ensure proper documentation and regulatory adherence under applicable EASA regulations
  • Collaborate closely with Flight Operations, Engineering, Line Maintenance, and external maintenance providers
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes and aircraft health management 

The Team

 

You will join the Maintenance Control Center (MCC) team in Copenhagen consisting of 12 team members, working in a fast-paced operational environment where technical decisions directly impact flight safety and punctuality. The team consists of highly skilled engineers with strong operational experience and technical competence across multiple aircraft types. We value accountability, collaboration, and calm decision-making under pressure. 
 
MCC operates 24/7/365 and is a high-trust environment where teamwork, structured handovers, and clear communication are essential to success. 

To be successful, we believe you have

 

  • Background in aircraft maintenance, airline engineering, or technical control within commercial aviation is highly desirable
  • EASA Part-66 B1 and/or B2 license  
  • Good understanding of EASA regulations and their practical application in airline operations
  • Commitment to onsite shift work (24/7/365 coverage) in Copenhagen is required. 
  • Ability to work in a structured and organized way in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Proven ability to take responsibility for technical decisions and follow through to resolution
  • Experience using maintenance control systems and operational IT platforms
  • A careful and process-oriented approach to troubleshooting and defect management
  • Ability to work well with operational and technical stakeholders and contribute to shared goals
  • Confidence making decisions within delegated authority and taking ownership of the outcome
  • A positive attitude toward learning, feedback, and teamwork
