Purchasing Manager
Fuel is the single largest external spend category for any airline, making it one of the most critical cost drivers in our business.
As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Fuel Manager to join SAS. In this role, you will help shape our fuel strategy, optimize costs, secure reliable supply, and support operational continuity across our network.

Challenges you will work on:
As Fuel Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient fuel procurement, supplier management, and operational fuel planning across SAS.
You will:
• Develop and implement fuel management strategies to optimize cost and improve efficiency.
• Lead tenders and fuel-related supply chain projects.
• Manage monthly fuel volume nominations and supplier allocation processes.
• Analyze fuel consumption trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support Flight Operations and stakeholders during fuel supply disruptions.
• Follow up and manage occurrence reporting and SafetyNet activities.
• Contribute to the continuous development of fuel procurement processes, supplier partnerships, and operational resilience.

The role is part of a larger Procurement organization and involves close collaboration with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Treasury, Tax, Sustainability, and Flight Operations. Success is built on teamwork, transparency, and strong partnerships both internally and externally.

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience within procurement, supply chain, operations, analytics, or a similar business area.
• Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
• Experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and an interest in market dynamics and cost optimization.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across different functions and seniority levels.
• A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a willingness to take ownership and drive initiatives forward.
• The ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a dynamic operational environment.
• Strong organizational skills and a structured way of working.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Swedish language skills are considered an advantage, as the role involves collaboration with stakeholders across Scandinavia.
• Experience working with aviation fuel, energy markets, or commodity procurement is considered meritorious
