HEAD OF DIGITAL SALES
This is a unique opportunity to build a world-class Digital Sales function and redefine how product-led ecommerce drives growth in the airline industry. We are seeking a commercially driven and product-oriented Head of Digital Sales to lead SAS's Direct Digital-to-Consumer revenue through web and app. This role is responsible for transforming Digital Sales into a revenue-led product organization, embedding world-class Product Management, CRO, and experimentation discipline to drive profitable growth.
Challenges you will work on
As Head of Digital Sales, you will be responsible for the commercial performance of the end-to-end digital customer journey, ensuring clear prioritization, measurable revenue impact, and close collaboration with Commercial and Digital & IT teams. Your mission is to develop SAS’s Digital Sales into a revenue-driven, product-led e-commerce engine. You will lead a high-performing team, strengthen Product Management across the journey, and establish strong capabilities in experimentation and data-driven decision-making to drive measurable business outcomes.
In this role, you will drive growth through clear prioritization, lifecycle optimization, personalization, and continuous test-and-learn initiatives, working closely with both Commercial and Digital & IT.
This role is initially a 14-month temporary contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive the commercial performance of SAS Digital Sales across web and app, with clear accountability for revenue, conversion, and revenue per journey step.
- Build and lead a strong Digital Sales capability, including Product Management, CRO, experimentation, personalization, and lifecycle optimization
- Establish and scale a structured experimentation approach with clear hypotheses and measurable impact
- Ensure end-to-end ownership of the digital customer journey, with prioritization driven by commercial impact
- Partner closely with Commercial and Digital & IT to enable a product-led and agile way of working
- Deliver on Digital Sales revenue targets in line with overall commercial objectives
The team
You will lead a motivated and high-performing team of 6–7 direct reports, including Product Managers, CRO specialists, and lifecycle marketing experts. The team thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, working cross-functionally to experiment, optimize, and deliver measurable impact on SAS’s digital revenue. As Head of Digital Sales, you will have the opportunity to shape the team culture, mentor talent, and build capabilities that influence the entire digital sales organization.
To be successful, we believe you have
- Proven ecommerce leadership, around 8–10+ years driving product-led, revenue-accountable digital organizations, preferably across multiple markets
- Strong ownership of revenue outcomes and P&L, turning insights into measurable business growth
- Knowledge of Product Management, CRO, personalization, digital merchandising, and experimentation frameworks
- Ability to translate customer behavior into prioritized product roadmaps that drive results
- Experience with GA4, CDPs, CMS platforms, CRO tools, GTM, BI tools (Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau), and exploring Generative AI for commercial growth
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in matrix organizations, driving execution while building alignment
- Able to engage and inspire stakeholders across Commercial and Digital & IT
- Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving digital environment, with a strong test-and-learn mindset
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English; knowledge of a Scandinavian language is a plus
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field is a plus
