HEAD OF ERO
We are looking for a Head of Emergency Response!
SAS is looking for an experienced professional, to join our team in the newly created independent role as Head of ERO. You will work to define and ensure SAS' responsibilities in emergency response matter are carried out and in accordance with authority and company requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring maintenance of SAS' emergency response manual and organization, as well as SAS Group's Emergency Response Organization is trained and operative.
The position will have leader responsibilities, and report directly to VP Airline Operations and be part of his leadership team - a high-performing and diverse team composed of talented professionals from various backgrounds.
Challenges you will work on:
- Develop the Emergency Response Program to the company need with improved functionality enhanced through digitalization and other means to secure an efficient system functionality and effective oversight and management during crisis.
- Secure Emergency response alliance support and cooperations.
- Ensure a program securing emergency response planning is in accordance with authority and company requirements.
- Define SAS responsibilities in emergency response matters and maintain SAS emergency response manual and organization.
- Define, prioritize and propose long-term strategic emergency response measures.
- Lead, develop and train the ERO teams and units.
- Develop, approve and follow-up on emergency response agreements and contracts.
- Maintain contact with international governmental agencies and industrial organizations within the area of security and facilitation (FAL).
- Act as Emergency Director.
To be successful in this role, we believe you have:
- 15+ years of professional experience and knowledge of working in the airlines industry and or from an industry with similar need.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree, or higher level of relevant education
- Experience in crisis management and emergency response.
- A high sense of integrity and objectivity.
- The ability to create cooperation among various and several stakeholders.
- Social competence to secure excellent relations to security agencies, military services, air-line industry security services and other sources of interest to fulfill the mission.
- During situations of stress/pressure can manage and prioritize the decision process.
- To handle issues with the highest degree of confidentiality and integrity based on own judgement.
- Analytical skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Certifications & Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of Civil Aviation Security regulations and other regulations of relevance.
- Excellent communication skills in English and understanding of the Scandinavian languages.
