HEAD OF INTERNAL & CHANGE COMMUNICATION
Head of Internal Communications
Are you a hands-on communications leader who thrives during transformation? Do you excel at turning complex strategy into clear, inspiring storytelling that engages leaders and colleagues? If so, the Head of Internal Communications role at SAS might be the perfect fit for you.
Challenges you will work on
In this role, you will help shape, drive, and energize SAS’s ongoing business and brand transformation. You will own the internal narrative—translating strategy into simple, compelling storytelling across channels and audiences.
You will plan and execute internal communications with a strong change-management approach, ensuring complex shifts become understandable and actionable.
You’ll act as a key partner to the People Leadership Team and collaborate across Public Affairs, Press, Communications, and Sustainability.
Your work will include leading the internal communications planning cycle, coordinating strategic initiatives, and building the communications drumbeat—from leader kits and CEO/CPO touchpoints to town halls and leadership conferences.
The Team
You will work within a broader communications team that spans Public Affairs, Press, Communications, and Sustainability.
You will guide a team of four internal communications professionals (solid line to the SVP Communication), coaching craft, setting priorities, and ensuring high standards and delivery pace.
As a “playing coach,” you will be both strategic and hands-on—writing and editing content, preparing leader briefs, building intranet stories, and supporting the team in delivering high-quality work.
To be successful, we believe you have
• 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, with a strong track record in internal communications and change.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring a communications team.
• Background working in international, matrixed organizations and operating comfortably at the executive level.
• Exceptional English writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate crisply under time pressure.
• A builder’s mindset—strategic, structured, and ready to roll up your sleeves to “ship the work.”
• The ability to ensure internal communications support business-critical processes, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
