HEAD OF TECHNICAL OPERATIONS AND NP CAMO

Do you want to lead the continuing airworthiness function for one of Scandinavia’s largest airline fleets?
As Head of Technical Operations and NP CAMO, you will hold the regulatory responsibility for ensuring the airworthiness, safety, compliance, and cost-effective operation of the SAS fleet. Reporting directly to the Accountable Manager, you will lead the CAMO organization and play a critical role in ensuring that all continuing airworthiness activities are conducted in accordance with EASA regulations, company requirements, and operational objectives.
This is a senior leadership role with significant operational, regulatory, organizational, and strategic responsibility.

Challenges you will work on:

•    Regulatory responsibility for airworthy, safe and economical operation of SAS's aircraft fleet under the limitation of the requirements imposed by European aviation regulations in accordance with EASA Part-CAMO and EASA Air Operations regulation.
Main Tasks
•    Ensure the development, updating and approval of the fleet's maintenance programs.
•    Ensure that all maintenance requirements from manufacturers and authorities are evaluated, implemented and accomplished within the applicable compliance limits.
•    Ensure the provision and preparation of approved documentation for all maintenance, repairs and modifications carried out on the aircraft fleet.
•    Ensure that the aircraft with continuing airworthiness and approved configuration of the fleet are maintained in accordance with EASA Part-CAMO and Part-M, as applicable, and EASA Air Operations requirements, and that records are kept showing the airworthiness status.
•    Ensure that all maintenance, including line maintenance and base maintenance, is planned and executed within the deadlines prescribed in the individual aircraft type maintenance programs and applicable maintenance programme limitations, approved maintenance data, and aircraft technical log requirements.
•    Ensure that technical services for aircraft, engines and components are contracted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, as well as SAS's operational and commercial requirements.
•    Ensure the proper storage and management of flight documentation.
•    Ensure that SAS's overall maintenance needs are carried out on competitive terms.
•    Ensure that continuing airworthiness activities are performed in accordance with applicable requirements, approved procedures, and AOC conditions and limitations, and that aircraft airworthiness and regulatory compliance are maintained.
•    Ensure hazards, occurrences, and non-compliances are identified, assessed, and addressed, and that appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
•    Ensure clear lines of responsibility and escalation are established and maintained and shall, within the scope of delegated authority, assess and escalate risks affecting airworthiness to the Accountable Manager or other authorized decision-making level, as applicable.
Managerial Responsibility and Mandate
•    Legal and organizational responsibility for the tasks within Continuing Airworthiness Management.
•    Personnel responsibility for all CAMO personnel, with direct leadership responsibility for the management team.
•    Delegated budget responsibility for the operation of Technical Operations within SAS CAMO.
•    Member of the Accountable Manager management team and contributor to achieving and developing company goals and objectives.

The Team

Continuing Airworthiness Management constitutes a key function within SAS operations and requires extensive collaboration across the organization.
The role works closely with operational functions throughout SAS and maintains strong relationships with aircraft, engine and equipment manufacturers, maintenance providers, suppliers, and aviation authorities.
As Head of Technical Operations and NP CAMO, you will lead the CAMO organization and its management team while supporting a culture focused on safety, compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key Competencies
•    Extensive experience within Continuing Airworthiness Management and aviation technical operations. 
•    Strong knowledge of EASA Part-CAMO, Part-M, Part-145, and Air Operations requirements. 
•    Experience leading technical and operational teams in a complex, regulated environment. 
•    A relevant university degree in Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field. 
•    Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills. 
•    Experience working with aviation authorities, aircraft manufacturers, and maintenance organizations. 
•    The ability to balance safety, compliance, operational performance, and commercial objectives. 
A strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach to leadership and execution.
