Long Term Planner

Do you want to embark on an exciting journey and work with ensuring long term resource allocation playing a key role in sustainable operational excellence of one of Europe’s most punctual airlines? If so, come join our Resource Management team in the role as Long Term planner! 
Recourse management is a department responsible for driving long-term planning strategies for crew and ground handling operations, ensuring resource availability aligns with business objectives, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. This role will be focused on ground handling operations and will report to Head of Long Term Planning.

Challenges you will work on:

As a Long Term Planner you get a chance to work in a challenging role with the opportunity to develop yourself and contribute to the success of SAS operations. 
In this role, you are responsible for making it possible to allocate the right number of people, at the right time and with the right qualification.  By securing a balance between resource level and demand, you lay the foundation to a successful operation and achieving high productivity and cost efficiency.


Some of the main areas of responsibility:
•    Resource budget
•    Resource long term forecast
•    Qualification forecast
•    Recommendations regarding new hires and dialogoue with the recruiting team 
•    Keeping the scheduling system up to date with employee information such as schedules, contracts, hiring percentage, absences etc.
•    Proactively identify, assess, present and support in key business improvement opportunities


The candidates we are looking for is interested in the airline industry and enjoys working close to the daily operation yet maintaining responsibility for long-term tasks. As a Long Term Planner you are working daily in our planning systems, which requires a system-oriented person and a willingness to learn. 
 

To be successful, we believe you have:

•    Experience in complex analysis
•    Advanced knowledge in Excel
•    Speak and write English and a Scandinavian language fluently 

 

Merited but not necessary:
•    A university degree, preferably with focus on Economics, Logistics or Transport
•    Experience in our planning systems GS Planning and SPX Roster Control
•    Experience from the aviation industry

 


Personal qualifications:
We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and structured person who is patient and enjoys getting things right. You like working on tasks until everything adds up and can stay focused even when deadlines are tight.  
To succeed in this role, you also need to be flexible and able to handle busy periods with high pressure. Collaboration is important, as you will work closely with colleagues in Resource Management, Ground Operations, and Finance. Because of this, we are looking for someone who enjoys teamwork and communicating with different stakeholders. Finally, being able to work with details while still keeping an overview of the bigger picture is key to this role.
