Long Term Planner - Resource Management

Recourse management is a department responsible for driving long-term planning strategies for crew and ground handling operations, ensuring resource availability aligns with business objectives, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. This role will be focused on ground handling operations and will report to Head of Long Term Planning.
Challenges you will work on
As a Long Term Planner you get a chance to work in a challenging role with the opportunity to develop yourself and contribute to the success of SAS operations.
In this role, you are responsible for making it possible to allocate the right number of people, at the right time and with the right qualification. By securing a balance between resource level and demand, you lay the foundation to a successful operation and achieving high productivity and cost efficiency.
Some of the main areas of responsibility:
- Resource budget and 5Y/3Y long term business plan
- Resource forecast
- Take ownership of identifying, assessing, and presenting key business improvement opportunities, and actively drive them forward to implementation
- Provide clear recommendations regarding new hires and lead the dialogue with the recruiting team
The candidates we are looking for is interested in the airline industry and enjoys working close to the daily operation yet maintaining responsibility for long-term tasks. As a Long Term Planner you are working daily in our planning systems, which requires a system-oriented person and a willingness to learn.
To be successful, we believe you have
• A university degree, preferably in Economics, Logistics, or Transport
• Strong proficiency in Excel, with advanced knowledge of functions and data handling
• Fluency in both English and a Scandinavian language, spoken and written
• Proven experience in conducting complex analyses
Considered an advantage (but not required):
• Previous experience working with our planning systems, GS Planning and SPX Roster Control
• Professional background in the aviation industry

We are looking for a proactive and responsible individual who naturally takes initiative and ensures that things move forward. You are detail-oriented, analytical, and structured, with the patience to work until everything is correct and the drive to deliver results even under tight deadlines.
Flexibility and accountability are crucial, as the role involves handling busy periods with high pressure. Collaboration is key — you will take an active role in working with colleagues in Resource Management, Ground Operations, and Finance, ensuring smooth communication across different stakeholders.
To succeed, you need to combine a strong sense of ownership with the ability to manage details while always keeping the bigger picture in mind.
