Marketing Technology Specialist
As a Marketing Technology Specialist within SAS Commercial you will be responsible for innovating and solving technical challenges within marketing in general and paid media in particular.
Your role includes maintaining and optimizing existing systems and creating new solutions to enhance our media buying and data collection capabilities. Key tasks include maintaining current and creating new audience segments, collecting data for our Marketing Mix Modeling tool (MMM), and developing tools for Dynamic creative optimization (DCO) and SEM, among others.

You will continuously evaluate new technologies, assess feasibility, and recommend the best solutions considering cost, impact, and effort.
Challenges you will work on:
Innovate and Solve Technical Challenges:
• Support Media Specialists by developing and maintaining technical solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness in media buying and data analysis
Audience Management:
• Develop and maintain customer segments for media platforms like Google, Meta, and Snapchat
• Understand APIs and hashing methods or secure data sharing.
• Work with JSON formats, Python scripting, and perform basic server maintenance in Google Cloud
Data Collection for MMM:
• Collect, manage, and oversee the quarterly data collection process for MMM, ensuring all relevant data points are accurately captured and processed
• Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely data collection and processing
• Pre-process data files, primarily in CSV and Excel formats, for analysis
Navigating the Cloud:
• Operate and manage tasks within the Google Cloud Platform, including virtual machines, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Cloud Scheduler, and BigQuery
Technical Documentation and Compliance:
• Act as a liaison between IT, legal, and marketing team, ensuring data is handled per GDPR and other regulations
• Draft technical documentation such as Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Records of Processing Activities (ROPAs)
To be successful, we believe you have:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience on client or agency side, working with digital marketing and/or marketing technology
• MSc/BSc in Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant fields
• Deep knowledge and understanding of the digital marketing landscape – both from a marketing and technical point of view
• Hands-On Experience with Media Buying Platforms, proficient in using platforms such as Google, Meta, Snapchat, and TikTok for media buying
• Deep understanding and knowledge of how to build, operate and maintain technology used by digital marketing (eg Google Analytics, GTM, DV360, SA360)
• Familiarity with Python, Node.js, PHP, SQL, JavaScript, HTML
• Knowledge of cloud functions and RESTful APIs
• Experience from working with analysis in a digital media context
• Proficiency in managing and analyzing large datasets, especially for marketing and sales performance evaluation
• Strong skills in Excel and CSV file processing
• Familiarity with SFTP servers for file handling
• Understanding of GDPR and data compliance requirements
• Experience in drafting and maintaining technical documentation and policies
