PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST - INDIRECT PROCUREMENT
Procurement Specialist – Indirect Procurement
As SAS continues to develop and strengthen its Procurement organization, we are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and international environment where procurement plays an important role in supporting business performance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
The initial focus of the role will be on Indirect Procurement, covering categories such as consultancy services, workforce solutions, HR-related services, financial services, printed materials, and other business support services.
These categories offer significant opportunities to improve supplier management, drive process improvements, and strengthen procurement governance. A key part of the role will be to create structure, identify efficiencies, and support SAS in developing a more strategic approach to indirect spend.
Over time, the role may also support sourcing projects and procurement initiatives across other categories and business areas, depending on business priorities and organizational needs.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive sourcing activities, support negotiations, improve supplier management, and help develop procurement processes that create long-term value for SAS.
Challenges you will work on:
• Lead and coordinate sourcing projects and RFx processes across indirect spend categories.
• Support business stakeholders in identifying procurement needs and sourcing opportunities.
• Analyze spend data, supplier landscapes, and purchasing patterns to identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, standardization, and more efficient ways of working across SAS.
• Create transparency and structure across fragmented spend areas and establish more effective supplier and sourcing strategies.
• Drive supplier selections, evaluations, negotiations, and contract implementations.
• Support contract management activities and supplier governance processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders throughout SAS to improve procurement compliance and encourage the use of preferred suppliers.
• Identify new suppliers, market opportunities, and improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the continuous development of procurement processes, tools, and ways of working.
The Team
You will join a collaborative and highly engaged Procurement organization where teamwork, ownership, and curiosity are highly valued.
Within Commercial & Indirect Procurement, we support a wide range of business areas and work on everything from supplier consolidation and operational sourcing activities to larger strategic initiatives. We are looking for someone who enjoys building structure, solving problems, and driving improvements in a fast-moving environment.
To be successful we believe you have
• A university degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• A few years of experience within procurement, sourcing, supplier management, contract administration, or a similar role.
• Experience supporting or leading RFx processes and supplier selections.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to identify opportunities, drive improvements, and support decision-making.
• A structured and proactive approach, with the ability to manage multiple activities and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across the organization.
• The ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive initiatives from idea through implementation.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• A curious and improvement-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities and create structure in complex environments.
• A proactive and solution-focused approach, combined with a strong sense of accountability and delivery.
• The ability to turn analysis into practical actions that create measurable business value.
• A collaborative way of working and the confidence to challenge existing ways of working when improvements can be made.
It is considered an advantage if you have:
• Experience within indirect procurement categories.
• Experience procuring consultancy services, professional services, or workforce solutions.
• Experience in supplier consolidation, spend analysis, or process improvement initiatives.
• Experience working in a large, complex organization with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with procurement systems and contract management tools.
