SENIOR DEVELOPER
Senior Developer
Scandinavian Airlines’ Loyalty Solutions team at SAS Digital & IT is looking for one Senior Developer to be part of driving our development roadmap within one of our feature teams: EuroBonus Commercial Development.
We just started our next exciting chapter of developing the next generation products and services for our more than 8 million EuroBonus members, as well as migrating all our current services from one techstack to another – the nextgen web of SAS.
To further accelerate this journey we are looking for 1 Senior Developer to bring further energy, competence and skills to our team.
Challenges you will work on:
- Support our Digital product owners to plan the team sprints to keep it aligned with our prioritized backlog.
- Take lead in code review for the team of developers working in the feature team, as well as performing pair-programming with more junior developers to help them advance in their development efforts.
- Support Tech lead and other senior developers in the department to analyse and perform solution design of new products and services, as well as refactor current ones.
- Understand needs from business and translate them into working software. This role requires strong communication skills, as you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders across different teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of solutions.
- Secure application compliance with regulation (GDPR, Accessibility) and SAS IT security.
- Understand when and how to make performance optimizations and trade-offs
- Design architecture and solutions based on MVP model that can scale to enterprise solutions.
- Proactively suggest digital solutions that can help the organization meet its goals
- Be part of our on-call rotation together with our entire DevOps-team securing our services are running stable 24/7.
To be successful, we believe you have:
- Strong understanding of how to build modern web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and libraries/frameworks such as React, Next.js and Node.js. (Web + BFF)
- Experience working with monorepo architectures, including tools like Turborepo, and best practices for scaling and maintainability. (Monorepo + scaling + maintainer)
- A passion for creating and enhancing the developer experience, including building intuitive APIs, improving documentation, and streamlining workflows for developers.
- A passion for proposing and driving change in a complex technical environment, and to share knowledge through demos, presentations, and other forums.
- Comfortable with cloud infrastructure, preferably within Azure.
- Strong familiarity with Agile practices.
- Proficiency in English.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field, or work experience valued equally.
- 5+ years in senior commercial IT-development role(s).
Beneficial;
- Experience from developing products and services for a loyalty program, such as other airline loyalty programs, hotel loyalty programs etc.
- Experience from Okta auth0 technology.
- Experience from integration with other vendors and partners to drive product innovation and revenue.
- Experience in CI/CD pipelines, Github, and infrastructure automation.
- Expertise in feature development, with a focus on scalable, maintainable, and accessible solutions.
- Experience working with monorepo workflows, including tooling and best practices that support team collaboration and scalability.
