System Specialist Flight Operations

Challenges you will work on:
In this role you will work closely with Flight Operations and Flight dispatch on IT initiatives to support flight safety and to operate smarter and therefore more cost efficiently.
Your primary responsibilities will include translating business needs into IT solutions either via cooperation with suppliers or configuration of our IT infrastructure. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Participate in designing solutions for distributing Aircraft data to different applications.
- Develop/configuration of data feeds in different applications/systems, e.g. Datalink, AOC, A350eOPS, G-Fomax, Flight Planning, DAR/QAR/SAR and ACMS reports.
- Coordinating and supporting meetings with suppliers.
- Together with suppliers define and design new solutions.
- Coordination/cooperation with different departments in SAS like MCC/OCC, Flight Operations, CAMO and Ground Operations.
- Support SAS FlightOPS AOC’s in operational matters connected to aircraft communications.
- Support CAMO with troubleshooting issues relating to aircraft communications.
- Assist in investigations relating to incidents.
The Team
Aircraft IT is a critical part of SAS operational environment, as we are providing IT solutions for Flight Deck, Cabin, Airworthiness and the Maintenance Production areas. The purpose with this role is to participate in designing, developing and maintaining solutions for data capture and distribution to facilitate efficient Aircraft and flight operations. The work will be performed together with the SAS Aircraft IT team, and with other stakeholders from Avionics, FlightOPS, Flight Dispatch, Fuel efficiency /sustainability, external suppliers, and in other IT teams.
To be successful, we believe you have:
- University degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Education and work experience in Computer Science is beneficial.
- At least 5 year experience from working in Airline industry and preferably within airline operations.
- At least 5 years of experience working in a similar role.
- Good operational and technical understanding of aircraft operations.
- Knowledge of ITIL, Lean and Agile process methodologies is preferred.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team where the team is collectively responsible for delivery and target reach.
- Fluent in English both orally and in writing.
- One Scandinavian language is preferred.

- This position is based in Frösundavik, Solna (Stockholm), and you will be expected to work onsite. Remote work may also be an option, depending on the agreement made with your manager.
