System Specialist – Self Service

As a System Specialist within Self Service, you will play a key role in ensuring quality, performance, and operational stability across SAS’ self-service landscape at the airport, working closely with suppliers, IT colleagues, and airport stakeholders.

Challenges you will work on:

 

In this exciting and operationally critical role, you will:

  • Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) towards IT suppliers, SAS IT, and airport stakeholders for self-service systems.
  • Take ownership as Digital Service Owner for SAS Common Use Self-Service (CUSS) solutions, including:
    • Common Use Self-Service kiosks
    • CUSS applications for Check-In and Charter
    • Amadeus-based Departure Control System (DCS) integrations
    • SAS Lounge applications and access management
    • Gunnebo / DormaKaba Speed Gates and physical access control
  • Ensure stable daily operations by managing incidents, analyzing logs, troubleshooting issues, validating fixes, and supporting releases.
  • Coordinate changes, releases, and improvements in close collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain service documentation, statistics, and SLA follow-up, contributing to continuous service improvement.

Your ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries and translate operational needs into structured IT processes will be essential to success.

To be successful, we believe you have:

 

  • A strong sense of structure, order, and operational discipline
  • Solid understanding of airport and airline processes, including passenger and baggage flows
  • Experience with:
    • CUSS (Common Use Self-Service) environments and IATA standards
    • Altea CM, DCS flows, and Amadeus-based integrations
    • Lounge access management systems and self-service kiosk ecosystems
  • Knowledge of AEA standards, PECTAB printing, and hardware communication
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and proven ability to work with vendors and multiple stakeholders
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, ServiceNow, and structured change management
  • Experience coordinating hardware procurement, installation, and lifecycle management
  • Understanding of peripheral devices, language translation for self-service solutions, and airline reservations (meriting but not required)
  • An analytical, patient, and process-oriented mindset with a drive to deliver results
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to bridge IT and business needs

  • Position: Fulltime (100%) starting with a 6-month probation period
  • This position is based in Frösundavik, Solna (Stockholm), and you will be expected to work onsite. Hybrid work may also be an option, depending on the agreement made with your manager.
