CREW MANAGER ARLANDA BASE

We are looking for a new Crew Manager to join our Arlanda base!

We are looking for an experienced and people-focused Crew Manager to join our Crew Services Leader team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support of a large group of pilots and cabin crew. You will help ensure that our crew members can perform safely, professionally, and in line with company policies, operational requirements, and aviation standards. 

This is a leadership role where people management, operational understanding, safety awareness, and structured follow-up come together. You will work closely with crew members, P&C, unions, medical specialists, planning, payroll, crew control, safety stakeholders, and operational management.  

The role is be based at Arlanda Airport, Stockholm, reporting to the Managing Director of SAS Crew Services.

Challenges you will work on:

  • Lead, coach, and support a large group of flight deck and cabin crew employees. 
  • Manage employee relations matters, including attendance, conduct, wellbeing, and performance-related follow-up. 
  • Follow up on short-term and long-term sick leave, rehabilitation cases, fit-for-duty matters, fatigue reports, and unfit reports. 
  • Conduct regular employee meetings, support conversations, development discussions, and follow-up meetings. 
  • Handle disciplinary matters, investigations, no-show cases, conflict situations, and other sensitive people-related issues when required. 
  • Review and follow up on safety reports, incident reports, operational feedback, and work environment matters. 
  • Support onboarding, probation reviews, role changes, offboarding, and recruitment-related activities. 
  • Collaborate with P&C, medical specialists, legal support, payroll, planning, crew control, AOC/CDM, crew support, training, and other operational stakeholders. 
  • Maintain constructive cooperation with unions and work environment representatives. 
  • Monitor relevant people and operational KPIs, contribute to continuous improvement, and help strengthen ways of working. 
  • Drive communication, engagement, and a positive crew culture across the base. 

We are looking for a leader who has:

  • Proven leadership experience, preferably from an operational, customer-facing, or safety-critical environment.
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to lead with both clarity and empathy.
  • Experience in employee relations, attendance management, rehabilitation, HR processes, or operational people leadership is an advantage.
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations in a professional, fair, and respectful way.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several parallel priorities.
  • Good judgement and decision-making ability, also when information is incomplete or the situation is sensitive.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to build trust across departments, employee groups, and stakeholder functions.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills in English. Scandinavian language skills are an advantage.

We are looking for an individual who can build relationships through professionalism, consistency and respect. You need to be comfortable moving between individual support, structured case handling, stakeholder collaboration, communication, and daily operational priorities
